Great sandwiches, friendly service. We stopped by for a quick lunch before heading to the airport. Ordered a roast beef and a veggie sandwich, both were great and there were lots of other tempting options.

I'm a general contractor in Portland, Oregon. This qualifies me as a lunch expert. I have eaten lunches as far north as Jantzen Beach and as far south as Lake Oswego. Ross Island grocery Café is as cute as it is delicious. It is the perfect café bistro. My only complaint is they don't have a location in St. John's. Enjoy the food and the vibes!

Was craving a good sandwich and my coworker recommended this spot. Cutely nestled on the corner in a cute neighborhood, this grocery/cafe offers various sandwiches and salads, snacks, wines/beers, coffee and more! I ordered the Ross BLT, so good! We sat outside on a sunny afternoon, so relaxing. Would definitely come back!

FOOD - Breakfast burrito: eggs, cheese, potatoes, and bacon in a spinach wrap. Very tasty with the side of salsa. 4/5 - Breakfast sandwich: eggs, cheese, and sausage in a grilled sandwich. Love me a grilled sammy! 4/5 SERVICE: The owner (or at least I think she's the owner) was really nice. My son is a picky eater so I asked for peanut butter on a slice of toast which wasn't on the menu but she made it happen. Grateful mama here! 5/5 FINAL THOUGHTS: I would come back. Food was good. Price was decent.

Ross Island grocery is a place I'm proud to call my neighborhood café! I live in walking distance and even before I lived here, I had been before with a friend. It's adorable, cozy, and lively during busy hours (the kind of lively that feels warm and welcoming and neighborly). Between the busy hours when you pop in, it's quiet and peaceful and great for having a cup of coffee or a beer and gazing out the window at the neighborhood foot traffic. I've had the classic breakfast plate, the tuna melt, breakfast sandwich, and the Rooster Rock chicken burger with side salad (my favorite!) and everything has been delicious! The service is friendly and efficient. And I love that I can walk there and pick up a six pack of microbrews or ciders to bring home as well.
